Handsome chi Skeeter is a tall glass of sweet tea. Ambles like an easygoing farmhand, stops to squint and smile in the warm sun, and doesn’t want any trouble with anybody. Sort of a youthful cowboy poet who likes people, dogs, treats and walkies but doesn’t have a horse. He warms up real nice once he gets comfortable; and likes a lap as much as the next chi. All he needs now is a trusty partner and cuddle companion. Ready to ride off into the sunset with this good old boy? Come on over!

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Skeeter came home with me in a pretty anxious and skittish state, but he has made SO much progress, and has been so brave, in such a short period of time. good job, skeeter!

He wants to be close to the action at all times, so he’s either snoring on the couch next to me, on the bed next to me, or just within earshot. (he doesn’t seem to have any problem being home alone, though!) he’s the PERFECT dog for someone who’s searching for a lowkey couch potato, especially since he’s the best company!

He has been SO brave and open to meeting new people. He does things on his terms, and has shown me so much curiosity and openness when i let him take his time. his at-home personality is so fun, quirky, and mellow, so while potential adopters may not see this version of him at HQ, they should know this is his true self!

*kids: he met a few kids, and even let them pet him while on my lap

*cats: when we’ve seen them, he couldn’t care less!

*stairs: goes up and down without any issues!

*walks: goes at your pace, zero pulling / reactivity

*barking: only when he wants you to feed him!

*Issues being home alone: zero! when you’re home, he’ll want you to be in his eyesight, but doesn’t freak out at all when you leave

*My dogs: though we had a few minor dust-ups in the first week, he coexists quite peacefully with my dogs, and has taken to following them around all day!
