Hello all you Min Pin lovers, we want to introduce you to the coolest guy in town, Skedaddle! Call him Skid, Call him Daddle, actually why don’t you just call him perfection! This guy has everything going for him! He has mastered the art of house training, he is extremely capable of stairs, and let’s not forget his five star personality. If he was up for the Michelin paw they would run out of bones to give! Skedaddle does wonderful with other doggos and can chill out with adolescents. If you’re wondering what it’s like to adopt an incredibly awesome mutt, let us show you the way to Skedaddle!
Here’s some notes from his foster:
Skedaddle is the coolest little dude you may ever meet. He knows when to chill, when to play, when to potty, and when to make super cute eyes to get treats from strangers at the park.
Skedaddle sleeps through the night with me and gets up for his first bathroom walk between 7:30 and 9. We walk around the block and he’ll pee and poop. He then gets his breakfast, which I mix with water so it’s like a stew for him so that he gets some extra morning hydration. Skedaddle then sleeps while I work in the morning on the couch and we go out every three or four hours. He usually poops again at lunch and sometimes after dinner.
He’s fully potty trained and his tell for needing to go out is that he’ll come up to you, nuzzle against you and cry a little bit. If you say “do you need to go potty?” or “outside?” he’ll start barking, run to the door, and spin around like crazy. That’s the only time he barks, unless another dog barks at him directly. We usually go for a longer walk or to the park at about 3 p.m. or after work. He loves to sniff everything and say hi to other dogs. He knows when dogs aren’t into him though and is OK with moving on if they seem disinterested or angry. I’m not sure how he is with recall, I think he gets extremely excited when out on walks so I wouldn’t walk him without a leash until you’re 110% sure he won’t run across the street.
He then gets an afternoon snack, usually a frozen lickmat while I go to the gym, and then dinner. He loves to help me with the dishes and brushing my teeth before bed, AKA he stands right behind me and stares. Sometimes he’ll play with a small stuffy – he bats it around and pounces on it and then will be done after a couple of minutes. He also will play with broccoli.
Skedaddle will hop up on the bed at night and cuddle against my legs or back in order to fall asleep. Sometimes he’ll crawl under my blankets too if it’s cold. I’ve also learned he LOVES a chin rest, so I’ll put a blanket across him and then scrunch one up for him to lay his head on. Sometimes he will sleep on my laundry pile (he for sure won’t destroy any clothes).
We’ve gone on some long walks and eaten at restaurants on patios and he’s done very well. As I’ve had him longer, he’s also gotten more comfortable with me picking him up and holding him.
Skedaddle would do great with either a single person or a family – the more hands to pet him the merrier! He also gets along great with dogs and would do so well with another dog sibling, but as long as he’s able to meet dogs out on his walks he’s OK without it.
