Here is what Silvio’s foster has to say:

We have never met a sweeter dog than Silvio! He loves naps in the sun, scratches behind his ears, and anything having to do with food. Bonus: he also doubles as a Roomba, searching for any lost crumb that may have fallen on your floors.

He is so incredibly tolerant of bathing, grooming, taking meds, wearing diapers, etc. He never complains. In fact, we’ve never heard him make any noise! He has the cutest, wobbly, John Wayne walk, but that also means he’s not a fan of stairs or long walks. He has an interesting quirk where he eats like a chicken pecking at the ground, and occasionally mistakes things like kitchen cabinet knobs or a foot for food.

He loves to cozy up next to our other dogs for naps, but would be fine as an only dog as well! And if sleeping at night was an olympic sport, he’d have all the gold medals. He’s usually the last one up in our house!

He’s currently getting into the holiday spirit. He loves to stand under the tree and watch the Holiday Baking Championship show!

Side notes:

His weird way of eating caused him to accidentally bite things he thinks is food, which was once my arm and another dog’s ear. He totally thought it was food, it was not malicious, and completely our fault for being too close to his mouth. But because of this, probably no small kids who wouldn’t understand he needs to be given space to eat dinner!

We’re still working on potty training with limited success. We take him out frequently, but we’re not seeing signs to alert us to when he needs to go (and he pees a lot). He is also ignoring the puppy pads. However, he will wear the male diaper (belly band) no problem. We’ll keep trying, though!

Overall, Silvio is just a sweet old man who loves food and sleeping, not unlike most old men I’ve met!
