With a spoonful of sugar and a whole lot of happiness, Shortcake is pure bliss. Life may be like a box of chocolates because you may never know what you are going to get … but you can be sure you will find happiness with this this lady. Shortcake is an adorable chunky little gal full of sweetness. She is gentle and quiet and quite perfect!
HERE’S WHAT HER FOSTER HAS TO SAY!
Shortcake is a very mellow dog that still exudes a joie de vivre!
She may be a slow walker, but once she gets warmed up she gets into a groove. She starts to wag her tail and it’s clear she loves being out and about. By the end of a 20-30 minute walk, she starts to slowdown. After a longer walk, she hops right into her bed for a nap.
She also loves riding in the car and gets adorably excited when we hop in! She wags her tail and is eager to look out the window and check out the sights.
Shortcake also enjoys hanging out in the backyard. When she
is outside, she prefers to be beside her person. Shortcake is still getting accustomed to her foster home, but I see her explore a little more each day.
She is open to getting picked up and is comfortable in your lap. However, she is also happy doing her own thing and relaxing in her doggie bed. Shortcake takes some time to get to know a new person, but I do see her coming to be close with me more often. When she isn’t napping, she will follow me around the house and watch what I am doing from a few feet away.
Shortcake hasn’t had the chance to interact much with other animals due to shelter in place restrictions. However, when other dogs have barked at her, she just continues to sniff and
walk along – cool as a cucumber!
Shortcake knows how to prioritize getting a good night’s sleep.
She puts herself to bed around 7pm. She sleeps solidly through the night, and has the most adorable little snore. So far, I have had to wake her up so she can go for her morning walk by 9
AM. If I didn’t, she would probably like to sleep in even later.
Shortcake is house trained and hasn’t had any accidents so far! She has not barked once and does not seem to have separation anxiety.
In a word, Little Miss Shortcake is perfect!
