Shaughnessy is a gentle and polite lady! This big girl LOVES people and is just as sweet as can be. She may be a senior, but she still enjoys going for strolls and making new friends along the way. Shaughnessy is such a beauty and would make a wonderful companion!

Shaughnessy is an exemplary old gal! Within an hour of arriving at our apartment she made herself at home on the couch and happily settled into a schedule of (mostly) snoozing, lots of snuggling and one or two 15-20 minute walks a day. We live in the Inner Sunset so Shaughnessy saw dozens of others pups on every walk through the park and she was a sweet and polite girl even when others barked or snapped towards her. We haven’t had her play with other dogs and she doesn’t seem very interested but she hasn’t shown any behavior that makes us think she would have problems with other dogs in the home.
She showed us she was truly unflappable when we went to the ferry building farmer’s market and didn’t realize there was a full protest going on. Shaughnessy stayed zen, as always, navigating through hundreds of people and dogs. The next day she took her first ride on muni and enjoyed a busy picnic at Dolores Park where she was obviously the belle of the ball and cuddled up with many new friends. This girl is fabulous in a city!!
Every one of our friends who have met Shaughnessy have been completely enamored. We’ve truly never met a dog quite as tender as she is, she will be an amazing companion but is not overly needy. That being said, she is eager to cuddle at night and will let you know it’s time with a paw on your leg or a head on your knee.
