My name is Carlee, and I have a sweet, senior foster named Selkie. Selkie is a 12yr old blue pittie who came to me after her mama, Heather, tragically passed away. I work with families going through the organ donation process for their loved ones, and that is how I met Heather’s family. We connected, and when the original placement for Selkie fell through, they called me asking for help. Selkie has now been with me for about 5 months.
Selkie is a sweet girl who loves her humans! Her favorite thing is snuggling and getting head scratches! She loves to go for walks and is still in pretty good shape for her age! She does have arthritis, but with supplements and anti-inflammatory meds, she has definitely gotten a spring back in her step! She loves treats and a comfy bed to snuggle on. She is a quiet old girl who is looking for a home where she might live out the remainder of her days curled up in the sunshine with her favorite people! Selkie does very well with older, respectful children. She is not the biggest fan of other dogs and would do best as the only dog in the home. She has done well with our cat, who mostly leaves her alone. She may not be a fan of more active cats who bother her. She can be particular about her back legs due to her arthritis, but she is so gentle and patient with her humans. She is a champ at taking her meds, and she does great for our vet! Heather’s family has been consistently involved with her care and has committed to helping with her expenses to ensure she is well cared for.
