Schooner is an awesome senior guy with a very sweet and super mellow personality. He loves hanging out with my dogs and fits right into the group. Schooner loves to hangout with the pack on the couch and snuggle with the other dogs or human. He loves putzing around in the backyard with the pack and gets excited by all the running around. He participates in the ‘runnings’ with a slow wobble since his hind legs are not as strong.
He rarely ever barks and just loves to hang out with his human. He loves going out with me for errands, volunteering, and he loves car rides. He enjoys the dog sling and backpack while I’m volunteering.
Schooner cannot ascend or descend up a flight of stairs. He can slowly go up/down a few easy steps if he doesn’t get overzealous. He isn’t housebroken so he has had to wear a belly band at all times. Easy access to an outdoor area would be best for him while he learns the ropes.
He enjoys treats and fresh prep food and eats slowly to savor his meal.
He loves sleeping in the same room with the family and he loves having a bed hopping in the living room and bedroom.
Bottom line, Schooner is the senior dream dog you’d love to have by your side for all you mellow days!
