Russet, a dashing cattle dog mix, is the total package. Compact at 35 pounds, he’s got wise eyes, and a tail that seems to wag straight from his heart. Mellow by nature and endlessly affectionate, Russet is the kind of dog who leans in for love and makes every couch feel cozier. He’s potty trained, polite in the house, and an all-around gentleman. Walks? He’s in. Snuggles? Absolutely. Drama? Not his style. With his easy grin and loyal heart, Russet is ready to be someone’s steady sidekick and soft place to land. Do we adore him? Without question. But we’re willing to share.

I am fostering Russet, and he is one of the most noble and sweetest dogs I have ever met. He is so loving and always wants pets and to give you pets and kisses. He is amazing with his potty breaks and has never had an accident. I leave him alone for four hours at a time between the time I leave for work and come back for lunch, and he is always so good while he is home alone. He has never chewed on anything or made a mess while he was home alone. I do leave him some music or TV on while he is home alone.
He isn’t taking any medication and is eating a good amount each day, as he is around 30lbs. Each day his appetite grows, but he doesn’t like to eat when we are not home, so I try to sit with him. He is a very relaxed boy—loves to sleep and lay down on our bean bag chair. He likes to chase after birds and run home on our walks, but other than that, he is quite a chill walker with not too much energy throughout the day. He is amazing riding in the car and usually just lies down. He is amazing with people, always wanting pets and love, and loves to meet new friends. He isn’t too keen on dogs that appear bigger than him, leading him to bark or growl, but he doesn’t approach them.
Overall, he is an absolute joy to have at home and the perfect companion. He loves to take naps during the day on our bean bag chair or his bed. He is always excited for a walk, but then equally excited when it is time to come back home and chill. He adores pets and giving you kisses and always wants to cuddle.
