Meet your beautiful new BFF, the friendly and delightful Ruby Lou.
You can almost see her heart overflowing with love. Open the valve and let it flow onto you! Figuratively! This lovely lady is a great walker who will happily join you for long strolls to explore nature or urban life. And she’s so easy and congenial, she gets along like a dream with people as well as fellow pups.
We think she’s a rare Lancashire Heeler!
Here are some notes from her foster:
JJust like her name suggests, Ruby is an absolute gem! It has been so easy integrating her into our household.
While Ruby gets along with some dogs, she would prefer to be the queen of her castle, and be spoiled like an only child. It is evident that in her past life she was in a home. She has excellent manners and hasn’t had a single accident inside. She picked up our dog’s schedule immediately and other than her meal portion size (she needs to drop a few pounds) she hasn’t given us a single complaint about her accommodations:)
We feel like Ruby would be a good fit for most homes, even first time dog parents. She’s coming pre-programmed- just follow the instructions, lol.
She’s good with stairs, non-reactive to other dogs and walks nicely on a leash.
When we both have to be away, Ruby goes into her kennel (with a little coaxing) and rests quietly until we return.
In typical herder fashion, she prefers to have everyone in the same room/area. She will follow whoever leaves until they return to their place. She also values her personal space and will let another dog know when they violate her bubble. While we don’t see this as a problem, we have corrected her and she responds well each time.
Ruby is a well practiced couch potato and will happily binge Netflix with you all day, but also is up for a walk around the neighborhood. It’s all about balance, right?
Anyone would be lucky to have Ruby join their family. We hope she finds her forever home very soon!
