As a stray, Royal Plum’s past life is a mystery, but she has the air of fairy tale princess who lost her way to the castle. Sweet and a little timid, she’s a very pretty doxie mix with soft butterscotch fur and wee ear flaps. She gets along well with other dogs, but her happy place is in a lap, where she receives attention with dignity and polite appreciation. Every gentle scritch and snuggle brings out a bit more of her lovely personality and quiet charm. She’s just a regal sweetie pie ready to relax in a loving home. Come get her! No need for a throne; curtseys are optional.
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Royal Plum is sweet and trusting. She loves to roll over on her back to expose her belly for scritches. She enjoys car rides, napping, trailing about after her humans, and medium length walks (1/4 mile to 1 mile). She is so well-behaved on leash strolling casually beside her person with a little smile.
Royal Plum is extremely quiet – no barking at all – but will wag her tail to acknowledge a new human, dog, or cat entering her orbit. She is polite meeting new dogs on walks and if they are regal enough they may earn a few sniffs before she loses interest. She will acknowledge our three cats with a few tail wags, but they have not proven regal enough to gain more of her attention.
Royal Plum presented as never having seen stairs when she arrived at Muttville, but has been practicing and is doing well. She has a good appetite and may be the world’s best water drinker! Royal Plum is housebroken provided she gets to go outdoors reasonably often (due to the great water drinking). She does not experience any issues if left alone (although her preference is to follow her humans everywhere)!
