If when you think of Corgis, you think of royalty, we invite you to meet Roxanne and think again. A gorgeous girl of the Cardigan Welsh variety, this little minx is a dog of the people, and they are, along with other dogs, playing fetch, frolicking, and kissing, one of her many passions. She thrives in activity, and recharges with ease, prepared for the adventure that lurks around the next corner. Looking for a partner in love and hijinks? Roxie is standing by.
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Roxanne is an energetic and sweet pup. Her short legs and stout body don’t hold her back from running and jumping around. She is an expert at fetching the ball. She makes dramatic catches in the air and always brings back the ball to play again! She has a surprising amount of energy for a mature dog, and is alert and playful most of the time.
She also likes tummy rubs and cuddles. She’s is housetrained, and she doesn’t beg at the table for food when her humans are eating. She definitely craves a lot of attention and love, and receives it graciously by rolling over for tummy rubs and snuggling up to look cute in her bed or whatever soft comfy spot might be available.
Out on walks, she is appropriately interested in other dogs, and often barks a friendly hello. However, joggers seem to get her more excited (she barks a bit more energetically) and bicycles and electric scooters are apparently her arch enemy. Outside of that, around the house she is a gentle soul, soft and sweet. She barks a little sometimes when people come and go as would be expected. She understands basic commands, and seems to want nothing more than to be around her person and get a little exercise now and then.
Her hearing is certainly intact, and she likes to sniff and smell everything outside. She doesn’t seem to need to pee very often but eats her food and drinks water regularly. I would say she can get nervous at times but she calms with lots of attention and a serene atmosphere. Potential adopters should be aware that she really likes to fetch that tennis ball and have at least one good walk each day. Most of our walks so far have been about a mile or a little more and she seems fine!
She’s a very charming house guest and would make a wonderful companion!!
