Romi, a gorgeous foxhound with no interest in foxes, is an elegant gal brimming with goofy sweetness. She is blissfully unaware of her leggy loveliness, stylish markings and luscious ears, which hang like two velvet security blankets from her noble noggin. She’s busy making friends with people and dogs, the bigger the better, and using her expert snout to locate treats in nearby pockets or in the next county. Bring some when you visit and she will reward your thoughtfulness with a sloppy kiss. We dare you to leave without her.

Here’s some notes from her foster:

Romi is a sweet soul. She’s good with dogs and has been good with kids coming up to pet her. She’s not a velcro dog so she calmly approaches, sniffs and doesn’t overstay her welcome. She’s a good walker on leash and very easy to take anywhere. She’s quiet and calm in the car as well. She enjoys resting her head against me on the couch while I work and makes very cute grunts of happiness when she’s looking for some affection.

I also have a dog and sometimes I throw a ball in the house for her. Romi just picks her head up but doesn’t otherwise react. With some dogs that are zippy she does perk up. I think its more about excitement than anything else because her tail is in a full wag. We’ve passed pigeons milling around the pavement while walking the Embarcadero and she completely ignored them.

Romi is potty trained and will give you signs when she needs to go out. Little grunts or a little whine. She can hold it a good 10 hours overnight.

I lifted her onto my couch to let her know it was ok to lay on the blanket there. After that she let me know she did not need my help. And easily climbed up and laid next to me. She’s just such an easy dog. I don’t worry at all about needing to leave her for a bit. I get greeted on return.
