Roman, a buff little Lhasa Apso with a fresh shave and a tight haircut, is a youthful looker with lots of pep. He’s got some swag in his wag, nice manners, and plenty of interest in dogs and people. He arrived without a wallet, but we’re guessing it held well-used gym and library cards. This sweetie boy definitely knows what’s up. He also starts on the shy side, preferring a warm opening to a grab-and-hug approach. Fair! Meet him soon and let the snuggling begin!

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Roman is a sweetie! Roman is doing great. He’s eating better he likes to eat some and then nap and maybe then go for a walk and then eats some more. He has a good appetite and goes potty on walks. He signals to me when he wants to go out.

He’s fine on the leash and clearly used to the sounds and smells of a city. He isn’t a sleep in kinda guy, once he’s fully awake (around 6:30) it’s time to go out for walkies! He always does at least 1 but usually 2-3 circles of excitement at top of stairs, maybe one or two on the landing depending how long I’m taking and at least one more at the door when he knows it’s walk time. Even though he gets tired on longer/rainy cold walks, he seems ready to go out again almost any time.

He’s definitely a sidekick pup – he comes and checks where I am if I leave the room and sometimes he waits for me in the hall until I follow him. I’ve only left the house for a few minutes a couple times so far and he’s always at the door when I come back. Once I’m inside and he knows where I am, he’ll often just curl up in his bed and snooze. He enjoys a good ear and neck and booty rub and when he’s in right mood he will offer his belly for additional appreciation (it’s become part of our wake up snuggles before first walk.)

He’s been able to do stairs easier. After longer walks or a rainy walk, I usually help him up at least a few here and there (I’ve got ~25 outside and ~18 inside) because he gets noticeably tired partway up. He keeps going on his own and doesn’t complain but he gets slower and seems hard for him especially while he’s still recovering I don’t want him to push it too much.

He’s truly a sweetie with a puppy face and a spry guy at 10. I cannot imagine he will be with me for long. If I knew of anyone looking to adopt, I would tell them to try to snap him up!
