Say hello to Rollo!

Rollo is as sweet as his candy namesake! This gentle giant loves to go on walks and explore new places. He is a very good boy who is friendly with other dogs and enjoys meeting new people. This guy is super mellow and adores nice warm beds for long naps. Rollo would love a caring family who will make him feel safe and cared for. Send in an application for this boy today!

We think Rollo is around 13 years young and weighs about 73 pounds.

Rollo’s foster has great things to say about him:

Rollo is a gentleman, with the sweetest, most lovely personality. You can tell he was an active guy, who attracted a lot of human & dog attention! He is a gentle giant, curious about people & dogs & seems to love children. Rollo is no pushover, however; if he sees someone down the street whom he’s curious about, or wants to sniff a flower or a patch of grass, he moves with gentle intent and – can we say? – stubbornness. He loves to be rubbed & talked to & takes long, snoozy naps marked by the occasional gentle snore. Rollo loves to get out & take slow walks & occasionally picks up his step if he’s feeling in the mood. He would rather be with someone in the house but resigns himself to a nap if his humans aren’t at home. He does have some trouble with stairs & needs some assistance getting up them. He is great with other dogs. Very calm. He is completely at ease with other dogs, even our jealous border collie. Gives a sweet wag at them, sniffs the little ones, seems happy to see other dogs on the street. No fears that we have seen. We’ve vacuumed around him, spun a loud lettuce dryer, gotten ice out of the fridge, run a blender & he hasn’t blinked an eye, except to look slightly disdainfully at our sensitive border collie’s freak-out. No accidents! We take him out a lot, though. We give him his last chance to go out around 9 pm or later & he sleeps in until we wake him up, around 7-ish. He loves big dog beds, especially the one near the heat vent! When he’s happy, he’ll give you a sweet little lick. He’s been a great example to our other dog of how a normal, non-nervous canine can exist in the world! And Rollo loves kids. Our kids are 11, 13 & 16. He gravitates toward them more than us. I’ve also seen youngsters age 4 & up give him pets & attention – he seemed to like that. Just today he rolled over & showed our kids his belly, begging to be rubbed. Such a sweet old guy!

Watch Rollo enjoy some belly rubs in his foster home!
