King Richard has lost his throne and is eagerly waiting for your lap to sit on. This boy is very patient with other dogs and enjoys a bit of playtime. If you don’t have other pets in the home that’s okay because he would rather spend his time with you. Richard has the sweetest personality and the cutest ears that flop south. He enjoys a few daily walks around the block and is getting ready to graduate from the school of house training. Richard is smart and fun, also let’s not forget he is extremely cute. If you’re into perfect Chihuahuas who are at the top of their class and are doing big things in life, we must introduce you to Richard! He will never stay out past curfew or hide his report card from you. He’s a good boy!

Here’s some notes from his foster:

He is quite the cuddle bug, and loves to follow me around the apartment.

He can go on pretty long walks! We did two miles the other day. But he seems content with just a jaunt around the block as well. while at the adoption event on Saturday, Richard reportedly was very friendly towards other dogs, and not reactive at all. He is protective over his humans and after a couple of barks at humans, he tends to warm up to people soon after – maybe he’s just a little shy.

I haven’t had luck socializing him with other dogs yet. Right now it seems to be that he needs a potty every six hours or so. He doesn’t seem to know any commands, but has learned his name!

He is a little slow to warm up and likes to approach you himself, but within a few hours he will be following you around the house.

He likes to always be sitting near you. He likes pats and cuddles especially on his head and to sleep on your lap. He is fine to be picked up and touched anywhere on his body, He did fine during a dinner party with strangers and by the end was sitting on everyone’s lap He gets along fine with my 15 lb dog; they mostly ignore each other and occasionally he sniffs her and gives her kisses.

He is very mellow and quiet and just relaxes around the house. He does not have separation anxiety and has not shown any chewing/destructive behavior. He doesn’t love the crate but he will stay in there quietly.

Overall a very easy foster!!
