Provincetown is a creamy, 9-pound terrier with the heart of a lion and the charm of a seasoned traveler. At around 13 years young, he’s the kind of guy who makes you believe in second acts and seaside magic. He is light enough to carry, impossible not to love, and always ready for the next adventure. He’s endlessly adaptable and bursting with affection, whether he’s making friends in the neighborhood, cozying up in a new cottage, or cruising Commercial Street in a canvas tote. At home, you’ll likely find him curled up in a sunny spot, soaking in the good life. Provincetown is ready for a fresh chapter, and with the right encouragement and a little grace, he’ll blossom into your loyal, loving senior companion…a tiny bundle of hope and heart, ready to bring joy wherever he lands.

Here’s some notes from his foster:

He looks to settle in his bed, the couch or next to me wherever I am. He begins the night in his bed and then wakes up and I put him in bed with me. He stays in one place the entire night and only gets up to turn around and go back down to sleep.

Even though he doesn’t track sounds (i.e. like my voice calling him to come) He’s smart.

Hearing & Sound Cues

Even though he is mostly deaf, he can hear certain sounds:

Crinkling noises — such as a paper bag or a treat bag. If you lightly crinkle a bag at mealtime, he’ll come running. This is an excellent way to guide him toward breakfast, dinner, or treats. All you have to do is call him or whistle and his tail is wagging. He will try to find you and will be so happy when you gently touch him and pick him up. Ptown just wants to be by your side.

It’s interesting to watch him navigate all the furniture he likes to jump on. In new environments, he spends the first few days “mapping” by gently bumping his snout along walls and furniture. It doesn’t seem to hurt him; it’s how he learns the layout.

He learned the stairs to the couch easily. I don’t leave him unsupervised when he is on my bed.

He rarely barks. He’s gotten better walking on a leash. A firm, steady leash helps prevent spinning or confusion. He approaches steps and curbs slowly and carefully, stretching his paws out to feel for depth. I can say that he is dog reactive. I usually pick him up when we encounter another dog on our walks.

We did take a road trip to Sonoma. He did great in the car with a bed! At first he shakes, simply because he doesn’t yet know where he’s going. Placing him on my lap in a small dog bed stops the shaking quickly. With routine, he should adjust to car travel easily.

He was a lovely gentleman at our hosts house and thoroughly enjoyed the back yard! He’s is SOOOOOOOOO cuddly and sweet with people and will never pass up an opportunity for a snuggle.

He plays with toys when he’s really excited, he does the parrot move onto your shoulder and kisses me when I come home. He even does a happy dance when he hears the dog food bowls coming out and he knows food is on the way!

He is exceptionally sweet, brave, and adaptable affectionate without being clingy—he loves closeness but also enjoys independent time. He navigates new environments with determination and patience. Soft and cuddly, but also self-assured in his routines and preferences.

Caring for and watching this sweet dog navigate the world – is touching. I’m glad he has made it this far – now he’s just waiting for the right person to come along who is willing to come and scoop him up!

If you’re looking for a 100 percent lap dog/cuddle buddy that you can take everywhere with you. Look no further, this guys was born to be a lapdog and would thrive under the care of a loving human or humans.
