Preston

#7752
Chihuahua
Male
Small (6-20 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Preston just snuck out of boarding school. Although he was the third generation to attend this privileged east coast all-boys institution, he knew it wasn’t for him. Preston can’t be tied down by rules or uniforms and frankly, he missed being around girls. He is looking to explore his non-conforming side with a human partner who likes to laugh and snuggle.

Preston would love to hit the beaches of Santa Cruz with you or head to the hills of Marin. This boy can be found blending into his bed or bopping around asking for some yummies. Please come down and ask to meet Preston today!

He is guesstimated to be 10yrs young and weighs 11lbs.

Here’s what Preston’s fosters have had to say:

Preston is very proud of his aristocratic upbringing, but after wasting his family’s fortune on gambling and women, he has seen the error of his ways and has focused his later years on redeeming his family name (we believe he is a descendant of Lord Byron). He is regal, yet not a snob and is very kind to those with a similar (past) propensity for mischief (puppies). His old aristocratic bones enjoy warm couches, sun soaked decks and curling up with a human watching Netflix (he doesn’t watch, instead he dreams of the poets of yore). He thoroughly enjoys a nice brisk walk around the neighborhood, and believes that he is good company for whomever has the privilege of accompanying him. He does not eat too much, believing in the mantra of “everything in moderation”, plus he prefers to maintain his trim figure, although, as his mother always said, “you can’t fatten a thoroughbred.” He will be a good companion for a quiet, decent home that understands that he belongs on the furniture, deserves warm baths and well prepared gourmet food.

Preston is a sweet soul who needs a calm home with a human who can walk him twice a day. He likes to be around people, and will cuddle next to you on the couch when you watch your shows. He sleeps through the night and then is ready for a little exercise in the morning. Preston has a sensitive stomach and should be kept on a bland diet (we are feeding him plain boiled chicken and white rice). He is mostly house-trained, but you need to watch him for signs of needing to go outside (the main sign is pacing around). He never barks, and gets along fine with our cat. He does not appear to be playful with other dogs, but he doesn’t mind them and lets them sniff his butt! His favorite thing is to find a sunbeam and take a nap. A home with fenced-in outdoor access and sunshine would be ideal!
