Pop Warner, a champ of a chi, is all the colors of a chocolate butterscotch sundae and twice as sweet. At 16 he’s a bona fide elder, but also the first to point out that he’s no geezer. He’s lithe and mighty with a little hair loss, some handsome freckles and a signature super senior swagger. Hangs well with dogs of all sizes, explores like a boss, and firmly believes his best years are in front of him. Pop Warner loves his mealtime, is really into cruising around for any potential crumbs that I might drop on the floor, a walk around the block, car rides, sitting in your lap and naps. This guy is easy to please! He tends to sleep through the night and is very comfortable when snuggled up next to his human on the bed. I noticed that he seems to be hard of hearing however, his eyesight is great!
Soon after he wakes up I take him outside to go to the bathroom and then several times throughout the day. He’s had no accidents in the house or in my office. He can make it up the 3 steps to my front door and sometimes will even go down them by himself.
I gave him a bath and he was such a good boy! I’ve also left him in a crate so far up to 10 minutes in my work room and eventually he just sat down. I’ve only heard him bark once and it was more of a quiet yelp. He also does good in the dog carrier sling and seems happy to go along for the ride. He napped in the sling during a neighborhood barbecue while the humans were chatting. He loves a good party!
Pop Warner is an easy going – go with the flow type of guy and will make someone a wonderful companion.
