It’s a seal! It’s a piglet! It’s Pikachu! And not the fictional species of Pokmon. Better! Our Pikachu is a nonfictional chihuahua whose singular cuteness rivals all the cuteness in worlds real and imagined. Round and short with a silken dewlap under a velvet chin, this tan bratwurst of a chi is sweet and low to the ground, a friend to dogs and a lover of humanity. Recently voted Miss Irresistible by Muttville staff, she is awaiting your adoration (and gentle weight loss plan.)

Here’s some notes from her foster:

Yesterday Pikachu came on a picnic outing on the peninsula. She was wonderful in the car-sometimes looking out the window and sometimes curled up to nap. She met a toddler who patted her. She was not especially interested in the child, but she was also not anxious or aggressive. She didn’t mind the pets.

She seems to be getting stronger. She runs up and down stairs multiple times a day and can now hop up on the sofa by herself. I have been watching her with my 17 year old cat. The cat is chill, and Pikachu is fine with him when they are just hanging around the house together. They sort of follow each other around. However, if Pikachu is on my lap, she becomes defensive if the cat comes near us. I have been working on this and it seems to be getting slowly better. If Pikachu goes to a home with a cat, this is something to be aware of.

She loves to snuggle in my lap and yet she will sit quietly while I’m busy getting dinner, etc.

We took a short after dinner walk and she was good on the leash, but she did not want to walk far: Maybe 15 minutes. Last night, she slept all through the night on the bed with me.

Overall, she is a sweet, attentive pup without any physical limitations. She does not mind being picked up and she loves to snuggle.
