What do you get when you cross a schnauzer and a yorkie…A Schnorkie!

Philip is a handsome mutt who enjoys Julia Morgan architecture, waking up early for estate sales, and riding his electric bike. He is skeptical of social media, preferring real life encounters. Philip’s mother was of Danish royalty, which explains his fondness for butter. Philip has a quick wit, and is a kind and gentle soul. He is looking for a companion who is interesting in walking San Franciso’s city steps and watching documentaries.

Phillip is estimated to be 14 years young and weighs 13 lbs.

Here’s what Phillip’s foster has to say about this guy:

Who can resist that handsome face?!? Phillip is a prince among dogs! He is loyal to a fault & would love nothing more than to be at your side through thick & thin. But don’t tell the little prince he is a senior, because this guy is young at heart! He can entertain himself for hours chewing on a toy & has a hidden mischievous side that sometimes catches you by surprise if you’re not looking. Did you drop a tissue on the floor & it suddenly went missing? Yup, Phillip probably got to it. Are you hearing rustling in the background like someone is playing with a plastic bag? Yup, that’s our little prince checking out the bag of toilet paper you just bought at Target. But then he’ll look at you with those soulful eyes of his & you just can’t help but fall in love with this guy. Even though he did just try to drag a 15-lb. bag of rice from the pantry. When it comes to walks, Phillip is more than ready to suit up & be Robin to your Batman! Of course, once you’re actually on the walk, he’s more likely to stop & sniff every rosebush, every leaf, or every tree trunk, than go off like a bat out of hell. But hey, with all that this guy has been through, he has earned every right to stop & smell the roses at whatever pace he sees fit. Due to his arthritis, though, while Phillip can go down stairs, going up the stairs is a little bit of a challenge for him. He would much prefer to be carried upstairs, on a throne if you have it. Phillip currently lives with 2 other dogs at our home & he made himself right at home with them. He does prefer that you give him the attention, though, like all royal princes do, so he’ll find a way to sneak himself into the conversation when he decides you owe him some attention now. He does really well going poop outside, but we are still working to get him trained to pee consistently outside or on a pee pad. He is making good progress, though! Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?!? Phillip has a very healthy appetite & will eat anything you put in front of his face. But there is nothing more rewarding to this guy than to spend his waking hours at your side, where he belongs.
