Meet Pearl Island, The Tiny Queen of Derp! Pearl Island may be teeny tiny, but her personality is huge! This sweet super senior is the ultimate cuddle bug who’s never met a lap she didn’t love. With her adorable little wiggles, constant tail wags, and her signature derpy expressions, she’ll have you smiling all day long. She lives for attention and will happily soak up all the love you’re willing to give (and then some). Pearl Island is the kind of dog that turns every day into something special just by being her goofy, lovable self. Ready to add a tiny bundle of joy to your life? Pearl Island is waiting to wiggle her way into your heart!

Here’s some notes from her foster:

You are in for a treat with pint-sized Pearl Island! This sweet little girl takes a minute to warm up, but once she does, you see her delightful personality shine!

After a full house tour, Pearl slept most of her first day home. On Day 2, she started to emerge from her shell, becoming more active and interactive, and she has begun to follow me around.

Pearl wasted no time claiming her throne: a massive dog bed where she loves to snuggle in and disappear. It’s hilarious to watch her get a running start to leap into her cozy bed.

Although she stares intently when I speak to her, I don’t think Pearl can hear, or at least not well. She gets very excited with a wiggly butt and a wagging tail when praised, but I’m not sure if she’s responding to my voice or if she’s responding to my facial expressions and body language. Otherwise, she doesn’t respond to my voice and she doesn’t startle to loud noises.

Little Pearl has discerning taste and she knows exactly what she wants – chicken. She’s a bit of a picky eater, but her absolute favorite is shredded chicken. In fact, if you aren’t serving up her chicken fast enough, be prepared for some delightful sass—she certainly knows how to let you what she wants!

Pearl is making some progress on house training. When I put her on the grass, she seems to know exactly what she needs to do, although she may give me a talking to before she does her business. The most encouraging sign is that she’s starting to signal by moving toward the door. She often has an accident inside because she gets excited, but her instinct to head for the door makes me think she knows the drill. With time, consistent encouragement and lots of praise, she’ll have this mastered.
