“WAIT LIST – This boy has a lot of admirers already, so we’re afraid potential adopters will need to stand in line, but he’s not adopted yet! So please do apply.”
Owen is a fluffy nice guy, gentle and sweet. And boy is he adorable with his gray and white face and kind eyes. He’ll make a great buddy for walks around the neighborhood and cuddles on the couch. Owen loves dogs and would be happy to join a family with other pooches.
Here’s a note from his foster!
Owen is a sweet, gentle, and easy-going pup! He is laid-back and well-mannered! He’s happy to sleep and hang out while I work from home, happy to go to the park, and happy to snuggle on the couch. He will be your little buddy and follow you around the house, but always so polite in everything he does. He was shy at first, but within a day he was sitting on my lap and asking for pets.
Owen loves other dogs and really lights up around them. He may be falling in love with a golden retriever neighbor! He could spend hours at the dog park and never get bored or agitated. Owen would love another dog at home, but he is happy to be taken to the dog park – as long as he gets some interaction with other dogs because he truly loves it. This gentle soul would also likely be great with cats.
Owen has been a little picky with food, but this is likely because he hasn’t fully adjusted to a new home. I made him steamed chicken and mixed in with dry food, and he loved it. Owen is happy to sleep with you on the bed (he doesn’t shed!), or in his own bed nearby. He’s also great in the car, jumping in and out himself and laying down while driving.
Owen is mostly potty trained but he’ll patience and time to learn a routine. He seems to understand he should go outside, so he’s likely stressed from so many recent changes or marking his territory after smelling other dogs. Overall, I think Owen is very trainable – he’s smart and wants to please his human!
Owen will feel safest in a quiet neighborhood because he’s nervous around loud noises. He doesn’t like to walk around my apartment building in SF (we go to a dog park on the roof that’s quieter). He loves going out and is great on the leash, but a busy city is not his vibe. Otherwise, Owen could fit in to just about any home (dogs, cats, kids – he can do it all). He could be an apartment dog (he doesn’t bark) or enjoy a house with a yard. He doesn’t know what to do with stairs, but it shouldn’t be a problem once he learns because he can jump on the couch just fine.
