How to Adopt

Everyone knows that onions have layers. Well this Onion has plenty! He has this salt and pepper hair, a gorgeous gray beard, the best personality and the most perfect pointed ears. Onion enjoys his outings on his motorcycle whenever he can. He is a senior biker who is quite the opposite of a bad boy. He is a bit shy at first but has always been friendly to every human and mutt he meets. He prefers to wear his chaps, however he is so tiny he falls right out of them. If anyone knows how to sew, Onion could really use a good needle and thread and your services!

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Onion is such a snuggler and lover. His little personality is starting to pop out more and more each day as he becomes more comfortable in our home. We are quite smitten with each other and he’s been giving me lots of happy tail when speaking to him & upon returning home. He’s also showing us a bit of a playful side when we’re playing fetch with our 4 year old mini Aussie shepherd. Onion likes to be in on the action, though it’s a bit challenging to pick anything up with his missing teeth. It’s so fun to see that playful spark!

When given the opportunity Onion will go to the bathroom outside. He would be best in a home that can allow him to relieve himself throughout day. As long as he pottys before bedtime, he appears to be able to hold through the night, but does like to relieve himself first thing in the morning. We’ve been letting him sleep in our bed and I let him out right when I get up and he seems very happy to go at that time.

Onion is doing well with our dog, and our dog is being so patient with him and so generous with sharing our love. He does love lots of attention so probably best with one dog or solo. He’s always following me around and by my side.

He enjoys walks around the block, but is quite skittish with every noise and passing person. I’m hopeful that with time he will overcome this, just like he has with me in the home, but it will take some time. It doesn’t seem like he’s had much lease experience, but with our dog in the lead it helps keep him going.

He is a sweet old man, that will do best in a peaceful, quiet home with someone who is home in the day, easy access to potty (or ok with potty pads) and enjoys a cozy companion by their side. Until then we’re happily giving him the love and care he needs.
