Welcome to Muttville, divine one, Olympia! Olympia came striding into Muttville, proud as you please, after having what we can only imagine might be a few adventures. She is a beautiful little Poodle gal, so we think it’s not outside the realm of possibility that she once worked the runways as a high fashion model. We’re sure she was very much in demand by the Houses of Dior, YSL and Schiaparelli. She would have fit right in. At 7.5 pounds, she would have been the perfect size for all the haute couture garb. At 8 years young, she would have been a fabulous mentor to up and coming fashionistas. But true confessions here – we’re having some trouble believing she’s 8. We have discovered she LOVES toys. She’s even played a little fetch and tug o’ war in the office with willing 2-legged playmates! She’s all about the treats, the cuddles and the lovies. But she is no couch potato. Anyone who wants to include her as a family member needs to know she is an extrovert gal who will need plenty of daily exercise. We are so happy to have Olympia at Muttville. Please come into HQ and meet this little stylish ray of sunshine!
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Olympia is one of the most loving dogs I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and the honor of fostering! Seeking attention from both humans and dogs alike, she’s so cuddly and excited to meet new people and receive pets.
During the day, she’ll nap through most of the day, waking up every so often just to check if you’re nearby, before falling back asleep. When she’s awake, she is just so excited to follow you around and curl up in your lap for more head scratches.
While she doesn’t need to go on long walks, she definitely enjoys being outside purely for the abundance of people and other dogs! A true extrovert, she’s so happy to receive attention from the neighborhood on our walks – both receiving pets from passerby people and sniffs from friendly dogs.
The other thing she loves about being outside is grass – she loves to sniff, roll around and go crazy when standing in a park or patch of grass. When she’s ready to go home, she’ll try to walk into any building door thinking that’s our home, and that’s when I know it’s time to wrap up.
She’s fully potty trained, and if she REALLY has to go, she will sit in front of the door and wait for you to take her out. She’s quick to do her business, and then she’s all set! She’s a bit hesitant about new things – it took her a bit of time to adjust to my apartment’s elevator and she isn’t able to handle stairs at the moment.
While super friendly to anyone of all walks of life, she definitely is a loyal one who prefers to stick to her one true family. She would most thrive in a household that can give her lots of attention, love and cuddles :)
