Having a dog like Oboe can be a bit like joining the federal witness protection program. With a youthful Frenchie in shiny black-brindle fur on the end of a leash, you are essentially invisible. You might get stopped and asked a few rhetorical questions, like: Isn’t he the sweetest handsomest dog on the planet? But no one really sees you standing there as they kiss his massive head, photograph his velvety jowls and rave about his manners around dogs and people. Which is fine! Because Oboe loves you like crazy and you love him and that’s what you signed up for. That, and the ability to wear pajamas on morning walks.
