Here’s some notes from her foster:
Nana had no issues-both on the drive home from Muttville as well as the drive to and from school (I took her with us when I dropped my son off at school.) Drives seem to make her sleepy and she settles and goes to sleep within 5-10 minutes! She has no problem with stairs unless they are steep Since she is so little, I think that she should be carried on steep stairs.
She has went potty each time she gets taken on a walk. She enjoys sleeping with people/next to people, on furniture. We have no rules about doggies on furniture, and she loves to cuddle up with us on couches. She slept curled up next to my son all night in bed.
We have three cats and she has no fear of them at all- she’s just very curious. Sometimes when one of them runs she will chase them, but with time she is already growing less interested in them- which means the cats are also feeling less concerned. I think she would be fine with most cats- although it depends on the cat. Now that Nana is already “used” to the cats, they are all just ignoring each other.
She does well with a slow approach. Getting down to her level when introducing yourself is the way to her heart. When my son sat down and let her approach him, she gave him a sniff and they became best friends. She was immediately obsessed with my husband, who is our resident dog whisperer, so no surprise there.
Nana likes to meet dogs on walks but only a short sniff- she gets a bit excited/yappy if more than a few seconds passes. She likes walks but I suspect she has been cold too because she will often stop- refuse to go further and it looks like she’s shaking. I’ll pick her up and cuddle her for a minute and then she’s ready to walk again.
She seems healthy and happy and comfortable at our place. She is a very friendly, easy going dog. Seems to really like being in a home. A lap dog for sure, she will want to sleep with her person at night. She is staying by my side but also is interested in her surroundings and likes to explore.
