Meet Murphy, the canine charmer with a heart as warm as summer. Nice to everyone, he’s like a furry sun. Look at him, so sweet and neat, a gentleman on four paws, a treat. He loves the pets, the attention, oh so divine, not demanding, just happy to shine. Politeness is his middle name, in the politeness game, he’s won the fame.

Adopt Murphy, this sweetheart so true, and let his kindness become a part of your crew. In your home, he’ll be the delight, making every day so bright!

This dog is hospice due to the following medical conditions: Cognitive decline, mobility challenges, and vision impairment.

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Murphy is a gentle soul. It’s been less than a week, and he’s already following me around the house and looking up at me. He gets along well with my other dogs and cats. I think he would even do well with smaller pets, though I haven’t put it to the test with my hamster. He walks very well on leash and has no leash aggression. At the dog park, he is semi-social with dogs and people. He’ll sniff a few butts and receive a few pets from friendly people. But mostly, he walks around and does his own thing.

Murphy is a champion sleeper. When he’s out, he’s out. He sleeps pretty deeply and isn’t too bothered by loud noises. I once dropped a pan, and the clang didn’t stir him at all. Murphy prefers to sleep on his own bed on the floor. I tried putting him on my bed, but he didn’t seem too comfortable. I think he prefers his own space.

I have stairs inside my home, and Murphy hasn’t tried going up or down them. Physically, he’s probably capable of at least going up stairs. On our walks, he moves at a nice pace. Visually, it’s probably uncomfortable for him as his eyesight is not 100%.

Murphy is the quietest foster dog I’ve ever had. So far, no barking, no whining, no begging. No biting, no chewing, no drooling. I feel comfortable leaving him home when I go into the office. He is not at all fussy. He may pace a bit before settling, but it’s not problematic.

My guess is that Murphy was either loved too much or too little. He’s very gentle and compliant, like he understands the “routine”. He doesn’t struggle when I put his harness on him. But there’s an independence about him that makes it seem like he’s been on his own too much for too long.

Murphy is such a good, little boy and so very sweet. He really deserves to be loved by someone.
