My name is Kira Kiesler, I run Genevieve’s Gentle Hearts Rescue, a small farmed animal rescue in Alamo, CA.
Last November we rescued an elderly English Bulldog from the euthanasia list at Bradshaw animal shelter. We don’t usually rescue dogs but we will sometimes pull medical needs dogs if we have a foster available. The dog, now named Mr. Mashed Potatoes, urgently needed BOAS surgery as he struggled to breathe. He received the surgery and has been doing great, but we have struggled to find him a home. He is not good with cats and will chase them, and while he likes most dogs he doesn’t get along with all dogs that he meets. However, he loves people and is a total cuddly sweetheart.
We urgently need to find him a home or a second foster as his current foster is leaving town on February 18th. We have had 2 homes fall through on adoption and have struggled to garner interest as our specialty is farmed animals, not dogs.
If you would be able to help us by posting him in your adoption network, or have any fosters able to help us, please let me know! I know you are probably inundated with requests constantly so I understand if there is not much you can do to help, I am just very out of my element with this rescue and would love to finally find this sweet boy a forever home. He is estimated to be about 8 years old and weighs approx 40 lbs, is up to date on all his shots, and was neutered when he got BOAS surgery. I have attached some pictures of him to this email.
