Ever dream of having your own house detective? A sleuthing mastermind seeking answers to life’s persistent questions? Montero is your guy. A creamy café latte chi, he is tiny, mighty and blind. Intrepid as he is adorable, this sturdy boy maps his territory like a pro and goes a step further, exploring for fun and nonprofit. He hitchhikes up and down stairs but manages the rest of the world with affability and independence. Other dogs, gentle people, affection and TLC are all welcome; a forever home would be divine. Come watch him work. He’s the little guy with monster ears and an itty bitty blep.
Here’s some notes from his foster:
Montero is the easiest and happiest dog ever. He likes to get out of bed around 10 or 11 if I let him. He then will eat a late breakfast and we go outside to potty. Because Montero is vision impaired he does not walk on a leash well. I carry him one block down to the park where he spends an hour sniffing the grass, trees, trash cans, and other dogs. We then go back home and he immediately sleeps until dinner. After dinner we will do a shorter park sniff time. Then come home for bed. Montero rarely barks, when he hears your voice his tail will wag, and he loves having many dog beds to rotate through. Since he is blind and potentially shy he does not come up to you to request snuggles. I have to remind myself to wake him up from his bed to cuddle on the couch when I watch tv. He relaxes deeply compared to sleeping in his bed. He does just fine home alone. He is a perfect well mannered pup.
