HERE’S WHAT HIS FOSTER HAS TO SAY!

Sweet Moby has been through changes that would challenge any dog, much less one as sensitive and shy as this sweet boy. He wants to love and be loved, but first he needs a little time to get comfortable. Things are a bit scary to him at first, but he’s gently taking it all in and trying to feel better about it all. He gave me gentle kisses within 24 hours and was attached to me by our second day together. He’ll do the same with any patient and kind person who takes the time to quietly sit with and talk to him. He was said to be friendly, playful, active and affectionate in his previous home and I’m sure he’ll get there again in time.

Moby is fully house trained and quiet. He’s fine with our resident senior chihuahua mix and does not have one aggressive or bossy bone in his body – even our skittish cat is comfortable with him. He like to be close, but will also go explore the back yard on his own. He can easily jump onto the couch and handle our stairs, and he’ll be even fitter after losing a pound or two. He eats well and sleeps soundly through the night in his dog bed. I haven’t seen his playful side yet, but it’s only been a few days.

We’ve been taking very short walks so far. He walks at a normal pace, but freezes when he sees a person or dog or hears a plane, train or other noise. If he gets startled enough, he’ll try run so he should always be on leash! I gently coax him through those scary moments and he’ll trot along again until the next sighting/sound. To keep it a positive experience, we stop the walks when he gets too scared. I think he’ll eventually get accustomed to the outside world and feel safe enough to go on walks with his people. He just needs exposure, positive reinforcement, patience and love. In turn, he will blossom and be your best friend forever!
