Poor Mittenfluff has had it ruff lately. Although she hasn’t gotten the care that she deserves, we’ve found her just in time for the holidays and she’s already on the mend. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to spoil a dog who deserves it most! This sweet baby can’t wait to discover how cozy the world can be. Just wait until you try bacon, Mittenfluff!

Here’s some notes from her foster:

Meet Mittenfluff!

Found wandering the streets of Sacramento in deep winter, ill with a bronchial infection and infected eye, Mittens hung on until rescued.

A few weeks later using her strong will to heal and survive, Mittens now has good reason to skip about and do a short jig to show off her joy!

What an amazing recovery. What resilience for a 7 pounder!

She takes to domestic life very well. She embraces the hygge and could give a seminar on peaceful napping. She hangs out with men and women alike though hats on men seem to be a no-no.

After breakfast and a chance to do her business, Mitten burrows happily back into her blankets for a long snooze. She’ll have a sweet nap in your lap as well. Snoring and vocalizing of course! She’s earned them.

Her foster: “Mittens is a strong survivor. She didn’t complain despite a continuous hacking cough, swollen eye, and pure exhaustion. She got down to the business of resting and healing. Now she will sometimes skip after a meal or after a short visit to the back yard. This is her happy dance.

She knows to use the potty outside if given frequent opportunities. A majority of the time she will go on pee pads near the door. I am not sure that she will ever be able to control her bladder well enough to only pee outside a few times a day.

I have never heard her bark. She doesn’t have any bad habits. If I startle her by approaching too rapidly , she will duck her head. She has limited sight so I talk to her and make that connection before I touch her. Once she knows it is me, she is happy.

Skippy is not a demanding dog; she doesn’t need walks and might remain too unstable in her hindquarters to be a good walking companion. Although she prefers to be in my lap, she does not demand attention if I have other responsibilities.

Skippy will be a good match for someone who wants a quiet sweet presence in their home.
