Mitch, are you a stuffed animal or a real dog? That face is too much! This Maltese cutie is friendly, gentle and quiet, an all around easy keeper. If you’re a fan of white fluffies or just all around nice guys, Mitch is your dog!

HERE’S WHAT MITCH’S FOSTER MOM HAS TO SAY!

Mitch is so sweet! He was a little nervous the first evening, but after a couple hours, he was following my partner and I around and searching for pets and snuggles. He doesn’t seem to have any temperament issues. He has never snipped or growled at me. He even let us give him a bath on the first night!

He takes his meds really well with food and he sleeps through most of the night and most of the day. He can go on gentle walks and he loves the park! We took him to Dolores Park one afternoon and he was so happy. He rolled around in the grass and loves watching people and other dogs. He doesn’t bark (*much) if at all. If he sees a dog, he might bark, but for the most part he doesn’t make a peep. He especially has never made a peep in our apartment. He has also responded to commands like “sit” and “stay”!

Mitch does have trouble going up and down stairs and hills. If the potential adopter has stairs, like we do, I would carry him up and down.

Mitch is a work in progress when it comes to house training. He needs to go out often, almost every 2-4 hours, and we also use a belly band to help with his urge to relieve himself before we can get outside. Any potential adopter would need to be patient and home a lot or have a place like a yard or other outside access where he can conveniently take care of his business on his own terms.
