Don’t be daunted by the name Midsize, although this charming shih tzu is a Muttville medium, but our range stretches from teeny toys that weigh about 3 pounds all the way up to our labs and pit bulls that can be on the chonky side of the spectrum. All of this to say that this 8-year-old chap weighs in just shy of 13 pounds and is a comfortable Midsize sed-, er, dog. He may only have one good eye, but this mutt has no trouble envisioning his future in the perfect forever home. He’s got luscious locks, a rakish blep of a tongue poking through his mouth, and a positive attitude, what’s not to love! If you see a Midsize in your future, come check him out today!
Here’s some notes from his foster:
He is a massive (yet tiny) snuggler and will curl up with you in bed, or sit on your lap while working for hours. Equally, he can move at the speed of lightening on those little legs – exploring the garden and keeping up with my 45lb dog on a walk. He moves even faster when he’s sniffing for food!
When he wakes up and shakes it off, he does it with such passion that he looks like a carwash brush – it’s very, very cute. Did I tell you he was potty trained? This guy sure does know where to go potty.
He’s doing great learning to see with one eye and spent a day bumping into things with his cone on and only one eye to see through , but took it all in his stride and very quickly adjusted to his new world. He is very unfamiliar with stairs but he might be able to figure them out with time. At the moment I would not leave him unattended around stairs that doesn’t have a baby gate.
He sleeps in the crate and I leave him in there when I’m out for a couple of hours , because that’s what I do with my dog. He doesn’t mind it and doesn’t seem to have any problems being left alone, but he is definitely happier when there’s another human around to give regular ear scratches.
