We’re not 100% sure, but we think it’s possible that at some point in her 7 years, beautiful Mesa Verde has in fact visited most of the sites and traversed nearly all of the trails of her namesake World Heritage Site national park! She certainly has the pep in her step and the spring in her stride to do it! While she’s an extrovert who knows she’s a truly beautiful gal, she’s not all “look at me!” about it. We think that’s probably because her personality is so sweet. She knows she should reduce her 50 pounds a bit, but with an equally energetic walking companion, who’s able to get out a couple times a day and show this girl the great outdoors, she’ll be her sleek, svelte Terrier-Pit Bull self again in no time. If you come to Muttville to meet Mesa Verde, wear comfortable shoes, because she’ll want to take you on a nice walk! (She also wanted us to tell you, her house-trained manners are top-notch).
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Mesa Verde loves to play and is most interested in socializing with other dogs and people. She is so affectionate! She didn’t have any challenges settling in and has been super friendly and very sweet. She gets really excited about going on walks, and likes to sleeps most of the day. – and will wait patiently for us to wake up.
Seems to be fine on her own (we left her for about an hour on Friday) and she did great. Mesa is completely house-trained. No accidents in the house and good news- she rarely barks (even when someone is at the door)
This little lady manages two flights of stairs easily. When exploring the great outdoors she likes to stop and smell the roses! She doesn’t beg for table food. She is a very delicate eater, and she takes treats very gently from your hard once she finds one she really likes!
Mesa Verde is a really lovely, affectionate sweetheart!
