What if the best investment you ever made came with four paws and a wagging tail? Merchant is a handsome Poodle mix with his sights set on something priceless: a happy future with people who will love him. This sweet boy is ready to leave the past behind and discover all the wonderful things that life has waiting for him. New adventures, cozy beds, leisurely walks, tasty treats, and the comfort of belonging to a family are all part of the future we imagine for this deserving pup. Merchant may have a businesslike name, but what he’s really hoping to trade is uncertainty for love, companionship, and a place to call his own. His next chapter is waiting to be written, and Merchant is ready to make it a very happy one.
Here’s some notes from his foster :
My favorite thing about Merchant is how hilariously committed he is to the art of doing absolutely nothing. This little guy can sleep. We can leave the house, come back home, walk around him, and sometimes Merchant simply does not care. He has important napping business to attend to.
Merchant may be an independent little snoozer, but he’s definitely a people guy. He likes to wander over and choose a sleeping spot near you, so you get a quiet little companion without having to entertain him 24/7. And once the pets start, his affectionate side comes out: he’ll happily give you kisses, with absolutely no respect for personal boundaries around your nose or mouth. And then walk away once had enough.
There is, however, one reliable way to awaken Merchant from his sleepy little existence: food. If something sufficiently delicious appears, Merchant suddenly comes alive and does the cutest little tippy taps while waiting for his snack. Current Merchant-approved delicacies include chicken, eggs, and air-dried fish chips. Apparently these are worth getting out of bed for.
Merchant’s perfect day would probably go something like this:
Wake up.
Nap.
Notice his person nearby.
Relocate nap closer to person.
Receive pets.
Give unsolicited face kisses.
Detect chicken.
TIPPY TAPS
Eat chicken.
Nap again.
Honestly, Merchant seems to have life pretty figured out. Give him somewhere cozy to sleep, good snacks, and a person to quietly keep company, and he’s a very happy little guy.
