Meow! Is Muttville now a cat rescue? No way, Meow is a wee long haired super cutie.
She arrived at Muttville very scared and is still very sensitive in new environments and with new people. She’s looking for that extra special person who will respect her needs and help her gain confidence. That cuteness makes us just want to snuggle her up and with time and patience she’ll understand that we just want to give her love.
Meow would do best in an adult only home, even with just one dog savvy person who understands her needs and can take it slow with her.
Here’s a note from her foster!
Meow came to us pretty scared and overwhelmed, but within a few days she felt comfortable enough to sit on our lap. She gets startled easily and doesn’t love sudden movements, but after getting more familiar with her surroundings and with us, she began to trust us and welcomed pets.
Meow likes to walk, and even run, outside! She doesn’t seem very used to a leash, and hates the sound her Velcro harness makes, but with practice I think she can adapt. Once she becomes familiar with you, she will always want to be by your side, either following you from room to room, or sleeping next to you.
She does very well going up stairs and can go down some stairs, though this is a bit trickier for her. Meow also does great with other dogs!
She loves to sit/lay on higher surfaces, for example on the top of the couch cushions or pillows – kind of like a cat :) She does well on car rides, mostly just sleeping on your lap. She gets cold easily, so have a jacket or blanket nearby. She will use her pee pads most of the time, as well as doing her business outside. At first, she will be very sensitive because she is scared, but within a couple days, she welcomes being close and loved on.
