But soft! What light through Muttville’s window breaks? It is the East, and Melly is the sun! A youthful member of the Pittie family, this diminutive beauty is a friend to humans and dogs of every clan, including, at the moment, a swarm of tiny elders a fraction of her size. She glides through the room on long legs – radiant, curious, and very elegant in white with a splash of ebony. Her dark eyes express quiet intelligence; her ears are darn cute. Come hither and bask in her kind attention. How much will she love thee? You will lose count of the ways.

Melly is a wonderful, happy, wiggly pal. She likes to spend her day while I’m working either napping, chewing a bone, or keeping watch in the front yard, and she loves to say hello to people walking by. She also appreciates a good long sniff walk so she can stay up to date on the goings on of her neighbors – if it’s happening in the neighborhood, Melly knows about it.
Recently, she’s been enjoying the dog park, scratches, and playing tug of war with her humans. She is a little bit of an itchy gal, so she’s avoiding beef and chicken right now to drill down the potential cause of her allergies. Pescatarian girly! She loves her salmon treats and is working hard on ‘spin’, ‘bang’ (which means play dead), and come. She is also getting really good at recall! We go to the dog park and practice, and she is nearly there, coming back to me when I call most of the time now.
She is exploding with love for people and dogs, so she loves meeting new human and dog friends alike! She has been accompanying me on errands and joins me in the store when she’s allowed. She is amazingly house trained and settles pretty well while I go out, but prefers company.
She is looking for a home that can shower her with love and attention, where she gets to be part of the day to day routine. Melly is ready for a new furever bestie and is ready to shower her new family with endless cuddles and kisses, for life!
