Mei is the kind of Muttville dog that you just want to scoop up in your arms and snuggle forever. She’s a tiny gal, who could very easily be carried around in a sling, and that just might be her preferred mode of transportation. Blessed with a wonky grin and the strong desire to never let the lack of teeth prevent you from enjoying a treat, Mei is no stranger to tackling things with persistence (when those things are treats, cuddles, or naps to name a few). Mei is the type of mutt who is unintentionally silly, whose adorable activities of daily living will have your lips curving up in a smile. If you want a pup who will make your house a home, come meet Mei!
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Please say hello to my foster buddy, Mei. While this little Chi plays “hard to get”, give her a few days, and she will be your best pal. After two weeks in my care, Mei shows me her playful side by hopping around me and playing with my feet. Mei is a chatty Chi, too. When she smells dinner, or when it’s time to be picked up or scratched, she’ll let out a few barks to signal her human.
Mei is good on a leash and doesn’t pull. In the morning, she walks by my side or slightly behind me. In the late afternoon/evening, Mei is energized and happily prances in front of me. She’s content with short (10 minutes) or long walks (40 minutes). If she gets tired, Mei is comfortable being held or snug in a pup carrier. I’ve observed her walking with another dog, and they get along well. However, Mei may bark at other dogs out on the street. Distracting her with a treat, helps quiet things down.
Mei enjoys car rides. She will quietly curl up in the bed in the back seat awaiting our next destination.
Mei is potty trained and goes on her pee pad as necessary. She is a solid sleeper and can easily do 8+ hours without needing to take a potty break.
She can do carpeted stairs both up and down.
In the evening Mei likes to sit on the couch with her humans, often covering herself in a blanket. On occasion she will curl up on my lap and fall asleep.
If I need to go out, I feel comfortable leaving Mei at home. I typically give her some food to eat so she is distracted. She’s also seen me close the front door leaving the house, and she remains calm. She’ll just pop into bed and take a nap until I come home.
If you enjoy quirky, chatty and loveable characters, take a closer look at Mei. She’s managed to steal my heart!
