Meet Mazzy Star, an upbeat poodle with lush salt-and-pepper curls and the stout countenance of a high-end ottoman. She’s a champion cuddler who likes dogs and people; and she’s ready to smile her through a weight-loss journey that has already begun. Mazzy’s not a stair fan, but she does like a jaunt outside, where she spreads happiness, burns calories and introduces you to new friends. Adopt her for adventure, power napping and nutritious snacking.

Mazzy Star is a very sweet and calm girl who is content to stay near you while you go about your day. She would be best suited to a household where someone is home most of the time. She loves when you pet her, and she’ll be sure to let you know if it’s not time to stop petting her with a gentle nudge to continue. While she can be a little shy around new people and dogs, she is curious and friendly and enjoys greeting everyone she passes on her walks. She also gets along well with the other dogs and volunteers at HQ.
While she’s on a journey to her ideal size, she does great on multiple short walks throughout the day. While she can manage one or two stairs and low furniture, homes with multiple stories/staircases would be difficult. In terms of potty training, she’ll go out a few times a day when you take her out, but you might have to remind her it’s time to go outside.
