HERE’S WHAT HER FOSTER HAD TO SAY:
From the first moment we met Marmalade (Marmee), we knew she was a sweet, cuddly lap dog. She was comfortable with my partner and I, as well as our 12 year old Shih Tzu, from the very start. We have gotten to learn more and more about her each day that we are together and have cherished every moment.
Marmee is the biggest lover you will ever meet. At home, she never leaves our side. She is always affectionate and looking for a way to curl up close, no matter what you are doing (working on your laptop, reading, or sleeping). While she likes her dog bed, she prefers to be as close as possible to her people – under the blankets, snuggled up next to you.
She loves going for walks around the neighborhood, practically jumping into her harness. She greets strangers on the street, wagging her tail and hoping for pets in return. While she is slightly feisty on leash with other dogs that pass by, we have been able to witness her off-leash in an enclosed back yard, and she is very playful with other pups, no matter the size.
She is currently cohabiting with our 12 year old Shih Tzu (who is acting as a big sister) and they get along great! They eat side-by-side without any food aggression, nap together, and enjoy walks (almost at the same pace).
As far as care, she only requires one very tiny pill that acts as a liver antioxidant in the morning, which she takes eagerly with a small bit of whipped cream cheese. We have also been giving her a joint supplement at the same time. She enthusiastically eats twice a day, especially loving the addition of a chicken and rice topper. She also seems to be potty-trained!
We have fallen in love with Marmalade and we hope she finds her forever family, one that can provide consistent love and care for the rest of her days.
