Mama Fiama’s beauty is instantly recognizable as something deeper and richer than her sleek caramel coat and regal bearing. A sweet easygoing pittie with a mellow manner, she radiates wisdom, patience, and kindness. It’s in her eyes, her calm greetings of dogs and people, and her readiness to gently respond to TLC whenever it is offered. She doesn’t see as well as she used to, but that doesn’t limit her enjoyment of an active life or your enjoyment of her companionship. Meet her and melt, then pull yourself together and take her home.
Here’s some notes from her foster:
She loves baby talk. She is a happy dog, despite her transition into rescue. She’s taken it in stride. She is 100% potty trained. She loves other dogs. Slept at Muttville curled up with a chihuahua!
She has exceptional hearing. Even the softest whisper from across the room will perk her ears. She’ll bump into things occasionally as her eyesight isn’t the best. She does still have some vision because she notices people and cars, etc.
She gave a few barks at some knocking outside my door. Wasn’t excessive and stopped when the knocking stopped. She did great alone! Left for a few minutes and she just laid by the door and then moved to her bed. Not a peep out of her. No destruction. She doesn’t appear to have any issues being handled. She does great on leash – no pulling, just gentle exploring and has made it around a full city block just fine.
She likes her food. Doesn’t appear to have any food guarding. She takes food and treats in the most gentle way I have ever seen. She sleeps through the night (and a lot of the day) on her own cozy bed, and she loves a blankie. She listens! Seems to have a large vocabulary. Come on! Let’s go potty. Time for dinner. She does what you would expect from a trained dog.
From the short time we’ve been together, I think Mama Fiama would thrive in a variety of homes. She’s gentle so mature kids may be a good fit, a solo person or family, city or suburbs. Basically anyone who can give this girl warmth, care, and love.
Mama just might be the easiest, most perfect dog! Wait, one thing. She snores. But other than that, she is the perfect dog and her snoring is even cute so, perhaps that doesn’t count?
