Mai Tai is a sweet Poodle mix who brings a little mellow magic to the pool party. Gentle and mild-mannered, this lovely lady prefers easing into the fun rather than making a big splash. She seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, and a confident canine friend may be just the poolside pal she needs to help her come out of her shell. With a little patience and a cozy spot in the shade, Mai Tai is ready to sip life at her own pace.
Here’s some notes from her foster :
Mai Tai LOVES treats and food. She really loves being loved! She wants cuddles and gentle pets and will make great eye contact. She appears to bond very quickly and prefers to be hanging out with everyone. When Mai Tai first arrived she was very nervous and “frozen” – however after 24 hours she had really opened up. She is a love SPONGE and thrives off attention and care.
She is a very good walker and really enjoys her walks – for her age she can walk pretty long distances. We’ve walked her both in a quiet neighborhood and along a busy street and she’s been fine. She understandably can get a little nervous with a lot of people and traffic.
Mai Tai has good energy and has gotten the zoomies a couple of times in the backyard.
She loves beds and really likes to have a “designated space” she can hang out in that is her own. She has I’m told our dog and cats when they’ve approached her in the bed and they’ve generally taken the hint and walked away. She will gladly enter an open crate on her own and hang out there, but won’t stay in for long.
Mai Tai is comfy going up multiple stairs, but needs to be carried downstairs (unclear if she is scared to go down stairs or if she is unable). Mai Tai has done well with our 2 inquisitive cats – she mostly ignores them. We would describe her as as cat tolerant rather than cat friendly. Mai Tai is curious about our dog and will wag her tail and show signs of play, but will leave her alone when needed (our dog is largely ignoring her).
