Are you looking for a tiny brown and white ball of fluff and an adorably prominent tongue? How about a cute, enthusiastically tail-wagging teddy bear? Look no further than the adorably fun-sized Lowrider. This little chap is approximately 12 years young, with a permanently surprised look on his cute chihuahua countenance due to the constant wonder he finds in the world. Lowrider looks a lot like a wriggly ball of fluff, but he’s equally happy to curl up in your lap for a nice cuddle. He loves a good treat and sits like a super polite little gentleman. Lowrider enjoys meeting new pups and has been getting along swimmingly with the other mutts and humans at Muttville. He’s certain to bring his forever family tons of fun, with his bouncy, wondrous exuberance, and we’re hoping he finds them as soon as possible. If you think a tiny chi could fit into your life (or perhaps your purse as you run errands?), please come by and meet him today!
Here’s some notes from his foster:
What a perfect boy he is! He’s cute, curious and so fun to have as a foster! He bonds very quickly with his people. I think he’d be fine living with other dogs, and families. He is tiny, so older kids know to handle him delicately.
Lowrider is so sweet meeting other people and dogs. He is respectful of others dogs while both on leash and gives space to any dogs that aren’t that friendly. He goes right up to people to say Hi and asks for pets and leans against them – he’s made so many friends in the neighborhood already!
He is tiny – only 5 pounds, and a cute little brown color. He likes to be with his person all the time so it’s very important to look out for him being underfoot. He can be camouflaged on carpets/ floors LOL! I’m thinking of getting him a bright red harness. We are using gates to block off the wood floor stairs. He was able to use doggie stairs to get right up on the couch, but the wood stairs are slippery for him and his tiny legs. Doggie stairs in the home would be important for him to not jump off of high furniture.
He loves to eat even though he has very little lower jaw and I don’t think many teeth at all. He eats quickly, and he knows when it’s time to eat and does a little happy dance around the kitchen, like reminding me to make it quick! He takes his medications easily and quickly in cheese, even the liquid meds.
He sleeps like a champ – went to bed around 11pm and didn’t rouse until I got him up around 7:30am. He is a master spooner. He wants to sleep laying right up against you. I woke up this morning to his little head next to my pillow! Outside of nighttime sleeping, he will take brief naps when sitting with you on the couch or in bed, but he doesn’t sleep long. This is not a dog who will sleep for hours – he’s too busy following you and wanting to go out!
What an amazing boy – he has not had any accidents in the house or anywhere else. He is a good leash walker, and likes to sniff all the areas and does lots of little pees. I take him out about 6 times a day for short walks. He’d probably enjoy longer walks too, and we’ll try that this weekend.
He loves treats and will sit when asking for them. He did well riding in the car but was very curious to look out the window so I’d suggest a harness seat belt and/ or holding him.
