My family is looking to rehome our dog Lilah. Lilah is a 7 year old
Great Pyrenees/Red Border Collie mix who weighs 75 pounds. She is
fixed and up to date on all vaccinations. She is healthy and does not
take any medications other than flea/tick treatment and heartworm
prevention meds.
Lilah is friendly and gets along with all people and pets that she
knows. That being said, she is protective of her family and when out
on walks, tends to want to approach and sometimes lunge at other dogs.
This can be prevented by telling her ’leave it" as we are about to
walk by another dog and try to avoid direct contact, She will also
bark at the door when someone knocks or the doorbell rings, but if
the person (and dogs) are allowed in, she immediately will greet them
and be friendly. She has never bitten anyone or any other animals.
We have one other dog (Australian shepherd) and a cat. She has never
had any issues with either of them. We have small children in the
house and have never had any reason to be concerned with her being
around them. No signs of aggression whatsoever.
The reason we came to this difficult decision is our family has grown
with a second child, and we no longer have time to give both Lilah and
our other dog the attention and care that they need and deserve. That
is why we have decided to attempt to find Lilah another caring home
with owners who have the time and energy to devote to her.
Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to meet her.
As of June 3, 2024, Lilah is still looking for her new home.
