Unfortunately we are moving out of the country for a year and cannot take our two dogs. And we have been looking for months to find someone to temporarily foster our dogs. And now we have less than two weeks to go. So we are reaching out with desperation to find places for them, either together or separately. At first we were only considering a long term foster situation where we would cover all vet bills, food, and other costs including paying for boarding during travel by the fostering people.
At this point, we are even open to simply surrendering/rehoming our dogs as that may be the only way. We had no idea that this would be so difficult.
Here is some information about them:
We are looking for a one year temporary foster situation for the dogs – either together or separately. Ideally, we want them back but if it comes down to it, would be open to someone adopting either one or both.
Laika the Golden Doodle is 18 lbs, 5 years old (we think) spayed female. We rescued her a year ago.
Casper the hound mutt is about 40 lbs, almost 11 years old and also fixed. We rescued him when he was 4 months old.
Both are sweet and loving and are up to date on their shots. Laika (golden doodle age 5) is fearful of strange dogs (not a good dog park dog) but a good homebody. Casper (hound age 11) loves walks but no longer chases his ball endlessly. Casper came into our family when we had three cats and one older dog, who raised Casper like her puppy. One by one our cats and older dog passed away of old age, leaving only Casper. 6 years ago our daughter was born and Casper welcomed her. Then a year ago we rescued Laika who loves our daughter.
They are both up to date on their vaccines. We would cover any expenses. We are happy to provide any further information, more pictures, etc. and are desperate to find a good home as soon as possible.
