Lady!

Lady!

Queensland Heeler
Female
Medium (20-50 lbs)
Status: Available from another shelter

Lady is an approximately 9 year old Queensland Heeler or Australian Cattle Dog. Don’t let her age fool you, she can walk forever and chase tennis balls for days. Best of all, she will drop the ball right at your feet so you can conveniently, and quickly please, throw it again. This girl loves her person and will do anything you ask, it’s like she knows what you’re saying. She knows a lot of commands, but isn’t particularly treat motivated. She is not destructive and settles down when it’s not play time.

She is not spayed but will be prior to adoption (on a waiting list at a clinic) She weighs approx 50 lbs.

Lady was rescued several years ago from an abusive situation. She is fearful of people, especially men, but can get over that pretty quickly through tennis ball play and in fact was living with a man and his son just recently. Once she gets to know you she is very affectionate. She does want to be the only dog, she does not like other dogs touching her toys. She does not enjoy the dog park. She gets along with cats and has lived with several, she basically ignores them but doesn’t mind if they approach her. She does not react if they hiss at her.

Lady’s humans recently and suddenly passed away. She is currently staying with family, but that family has a dog and the two are not comfortable with each other. Lady needs a home to settle in to ASAP. Ideally that home would have a fenced in yard, patient humans, no other dogs, and a giant pile of tennis balls.

This is a courtesy post. Lady! is not a Muttville dog. If you are interested in adopting Lady! and want to learn more about her, please contact: Alison at 650-868-0978 (text) and email baxfield@gmail.com.
