Hang on to your hats, people, we’ve got a stealth puppy in the senior zone! Kevin, a nifty terrier who looks like an emo rock icon, is a scruffy action figure who has dedicated his life to athleisure – not the clothes, just the lifestyle. He runs, trots and wiggles like a champ, taking care to nap and socialize with dogs and people as needed. Play in all its forms is a priority, especially when supplemented by toys, or Kevin’s kryptonite: A ball. In fact, we admit that if you adopt Kevin, a ball is possibly the only thing he will love as much as you; though, as the person who throws the balls, you will be adored beyond measure.

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Hello from Kevin’s foster family!

Kevin is so sweet it is hard not to love him. He is so good intentioned and so playful. A stranger complimented him on his stark looks yesterday. Kevin looks a lot like the character in Wes Anderson’s 2018 film Isle of Dogs, Chief (a stray!), but with a few more grays.

We’re currently trying to move ball time to a reward activity which will hopefully teach him to adopt some new skills. He’s learning to be more relaxed in the car. He has been a dream on the leash and when running errands.

He is doing great so far. He gets along well with my dog, a 2 year old German shepherd mix. She wants to play, he is not terribly interested. But they get along fine. He is not a fan of my cat, but he does seem to understand what the hissing means.

He is figuring out potty training, he knows what to do and where to do it, and he has good intentions. He is getting there! Not too bad for someone who was a stray.

As far as his obsession with balls (meaning, anything remotely round and smaller than the planet Earth): it is cute for a little while but then it becomes too much. We have been limiting him. He will literally run until he drops, so the ball really should be used sparingly.

We went on a mile-long walk yesterday and he was great on the leash. He enjoys a brisk walk! He slept through the night just fine, went potty outside in the morning. He enjoys sitting next to me on the couch.

Overall, he is a super sweet little guy that will make someone a lovely companion and walking buddy.
