Kassy

Kassy

#13210
Pomeranian
Female
7 lbs (small)
Status: Adopted

We here at Muttville feel that Pom-Chis are one of the most splendid breeds that walk through the door, with the soft and luscious locks common to a Pomeranian but the tenacity and joie de vivre of a chihuahua. Kassy is a splendid specimen of Pom-Chi-ness, this gorgeous girl is mostly white but with the cutest tan ears that stick out like airplane wings (perhaps they make Kassy more aerodynamic?) on either side of her positively adorable face. Kassy has a calmer disposition even though she’s on the younger side of senior-dom at 8 years old. She loves cuddles and snuggles and would find it divine to sit in your lap while you watch TV or read a nice book, but she’s also game to tag along on your errands if you promise to carry her when her little leggies get tired. Kassy would love to be someone’s pampered princess with lots of soft spots to lay her head down, but be careful, if you put her on a surface with too many stuffed animals, you might lose her as she blends right in! This sweet girl would love to meet you if you think she might be a good fit, so please stop by and meet her today! She’ll be waiting with snuggles.

Here’s some notes from her foster:

Kassy is pee pad trained for sure, she uses them exclusively but is learning to go potty outside too. She isn’t a big fan of going for walks but it more willing to trot along if she is out with our dog (who also doesn’t like to walk). She is dog friendly/neutral. I think she’s a little intimidated by Winnie who is 45lbs but they peacefully coexist. She has had no reaction to seeing other dogs on the street. I think she could be playful with the right dog.

If you brought her along in your purse, I’m pretty sure she’d make an excellent restaurant patio dog. She’s quiet and very amendable to being carried around. She does bark for a bit when she is initially left alone, but with each opportunity to be by herself she is getting more comfortable. Once she settles, she chills out and goes to sleep. She doesn’t seem bothered by noises on the street or above us and doesn’t bark at anything she hears.

She is very food motivated and already knows where we keep the treats. Kassy does really well with being handled. We’ve given her a bath, touched her paws, ears, tail, etc and she doesn’t seem to mind at all. She is fine with being picked up and carried around and has shown no signs of distress with any of that.

She is really sweet. She gets excited to see us and loves to cuddle up near us on the couch. She has been sleeping in our bed because she did not want to sleep in her pen the first night and let us know by barking at us. She seems very used to sleeping in a human bed and sleeps curled up next to me. She loves all soft, fuzzy blankets and beds. She has made herself right at home and has found all of the good napping spots on our couch, rug, dog beds, etc.

She is silly and goofy at times, she does this funny thing where she kicks/scratches her back feet in the rug, then sploots her little back legs behind her. We’re trying to figure out her play style because it does seem like she has a playful side!

Kassy seems to know some commands and knows how to sit, understands the concept of come even though she doesn’t always do it, and is working on stay. She is a smart little lady for sure.
