If you’re looking for a mutt that will wrap you in the warm embrace of a young adult coming of age novel, we’ve got just the gal for you! Judy Blume has made her grand appearance on the Muttville stage, preferring to cuddle serenely on a couch than be the star of the show, but what would you expect from a doggo named after the patron saint of awkward adolescents? This 12-year-old poodle has the kind of fuzzy golden locks that you just don’t know what to do with, much like the 12-year-old characters in her namesake novels, although Miss Blume looks supremely snuggly. Although not facing puberty, Mss Judy Blume is facing a coming of age challenge of her own – finding her new forever family! Although she may be feeling a lot of big feelings, like excitement, anxiety, and trepidation, much like a good Judy Blume novel, we think that she’ll find a happy ending. If you want to help her write the ending to her story, we know she’d love to meet you!

Here’s some notes from her foster:

Judy Blume is an absolute sweetheart and has been the most wonderful guest in my home. She seems to be potty trained and has never gone inside the home. She also has excellent bladder control and can hold it in throughout the night.

I don’t think Judy is completely blind, but she is visually impaired. That doesn’t stop her from living her best life as she sniffs her way through the world. She doesn’t care for toys but loves to search for treats when I scatter them on her blanket. I have left her alone for up to 5 hours and she is super chill, finds a place to nap (usually the couch) and waits for me to come home.

Judy is cautious when first walking in a new area but once she becomes familiar with her route she is on the move, not letting an occasional curb stop her from exploring! She likes to check in and make sure her human is near and once she knows they are there she’s back on the move. I take her for 15-30 minute walks 3 times a day.

Judy’s favorite thing to do is be near her human. She loves to cuddle and will snuggle with me on the couch while I read a book. Judy doesn’t care for other dogs or cats as long as they are not pouncing all over her. I only hear an occasional bark when she hears a noise she is unfamiliar with or when she’s startled awake. She’d do best in a home with no stairs but she is super intelligent and learned how to use the doggie stairs to get on and off the couch in about a day.

If you’re looking for a super sweet, chill girl who is low maintenance, will cuddle up with you and give you lots of kisses, Judy Blume is your girl!
