Josephine is an adorable miniature poodle mix, who will melt your heart! She found herself at the shelter in Solano County, but came to Muttville ready for a new start. Josephine may be a senior dog, but that doesn’t hold this active pup back. This girl has a bubbly personality and is good with people and dogs. Come meet your newest family member today! We think Josephine is around 12 years young and weighs around 16 pounds.
Here’s a note form her foster:
Josephine is a sweet, mellow and low maintenance girl. She is very curious, so she will check out every corner of your house and yard. Then she will settle next to you.
Josephine LOVES people! She’s mostly indifferent to other dogs and just ignores them. She didn’t even care about squirrels who were playing just in front of her!
She is potty trained and can sleep through the night if you take her out right before she goes to bed. And she loves to sleep by your feet in your bed.
Josephine loves to go for walks. It can be a few blocks or 1.5 miles! She walks well on leash, no pulling, but she stops a lot to sniff and leave her ‘pee-mails’. She has no problem with stairs and she also loves to fetch!
Josephine loves food! When she really wants food, she will let you know by whining. Her whining is so cute, it is hard to resist!
She seems to be hard of hearing and it takes loud claps to get her attention. Since she is hard of hearing, we are not sure if she does not know the basic commands like sit, down, wait… But we know she does not know hand signals. So we are trying to teach her to sit. She is very food motivated, so with time, I am sure she can learn!
Overall, Miss Josephine is a mellow, sweet and belly-rub loving girl!
